Hap's therapy @ Hort Park
Happy had a therapy session yesterday to address his dislike for CATS, mainly out of his fear of them.
Therapist found some negative 'emotions' from his earlier years with former owner and she worked to rid him of them.
He has few more sessions to attend; possibly next month.
I hope he can befriend his cat friends soon. Dont relish the idea of him frightening the cats off by chasing them!

From these to these
I had been concerned with Happy's teeth for a while especially his FANGS, that were stained with plague.
Having more time in my hands now, I took him for dental scaling at a nearby vet. His scaling cost me 100 times more than mine!!!
Vet told me to take him in by 930am and when I enquired time he will undergo scaling procedure, I was told it would be 12noon. I asked why I should take him to vet so early and let him wait nervously at the clinic?? I compromised by taking him there only at 1030am.
And I asked what time would I be able to take him home? Was told by 4pm to which I totally disagreed. They relented and allowed me to take him home by 2pm.
Happy's cleaned teeth! Must clean his teeth often now. It was rather painful to see him shaking/shivering so badly when I went to the Vet to get him. Was told it was caused by GA administered to him. I am not sure if it is true or that he had been manhandled and traumatised by the event?

Hospital again?
This was HappyBoy once again in the hospital late last month!
He had diarrhea with blood in his watery stools; I sent him to vet IMMEDIATELY as his refusal for food signals something is seriously wrong. Anyone who knows Happy well will know that he NEVER refuses food!
I was truly alarmed when at the vet he pooped only blood out.
He was given several types of medications, drips, few jabs and he is now back to his happy self. Thank God.

Slim Happy and his birthday.
I went on a 2 weeks trip recently; upon my return I found Happy had lost 3/4quarters of a kilo. Thats alot for a greedy boy like him.
He slept on my bed next to me like a log on the day I returned home! He could have been having sleepless nights when I was away.
Happy enjoying his birthday cake on 29Mar.
He was made to wait while I photograph him with his birthday cake - mango cake.
Yay, Hap is now 6 years young.

Happy at Vet again!
Yesterday evening, 4th Mar, I fed Happy with some pieces of pears, after halfway through them, he started retching. What came out was extremely slimy and very thick, he had problem coughing them out as the vomit was 'hanging' from inside his mouth. I had to 'pull' the thick slime out from his mouth. This went on for a good 15-20mins, all the time thick slimy stuff were coming out and he tried to swallow them back as they hung inside his mouth. I had to open his mouth to dig them out!
He got so so exhausted from his constant vomiting that he had to lie down on his stomach. He became breathless and gasped for air. I had called the vet earlier on and was told they were not opened till 6pm. I couldnt wait any longer as he was very tired from vomiting / breathless.
As I wondered how I was going to drive him to the vet, I heard my nephew's voice when he got home. I called him and my 1st words were: - This is an emergency, I need you to take Hap and I to the vet. There was no time to waste. As the vet was on the other side of the road, I asked my nephew to drop us at the nearest point to the vet and I carried Hap and ran all the way to the vet. On arriving at the vet, the glass door had the a sign that said "closed". I didnt care, I knocked very hard at the glass door. A passer by saw the urgency / desperation on my face and signaled to me to just push the glass door. I did so and it opened, the bell sounded on opening and a lady came to me. I exclaimed: "this is an emergency". The vet upon hearing came forth from nowhere, immediately took Hap from me and tried to induce him to vomit more. When he didnt, they immediately checked his heart beat, took xrays and blood test. I was told his heart beat was FAINT and they immediately put an oxygen mask over his muzzle and gave him a drip.
They suggested putting him overnight to monitor him; I went thro a few choices with the vet and decided to wait with him to see if he would improve. They 'caged' him after removing the oxygen mask and I sat next to him.
Fortunately he returned to his normal self and the vet tested with a small portion of food to check if he would regurgitate. He didnt.
I decided not to board him and took him home so he could rest properly.
No only Hap was tired, I was from all this drama and trauma, seeing him breathless and gasping for air. It brought on the memory of late Fiffy who had also vomited and became breathless and passed on in my arms.

Lunar New Year
White Dog / Happy Boy
The irresponsible owner of the white dog took its dog to Bishan Park WITHOUT keeping a close watch over it and Happy boy was injured as a result of this.
Hap's ear had a small 'hole'
His upper arm had a long scratch
Even his nose nose was not spared!
AND the owner of the white dog didnt even apologise when I showed him Happy's injuries!
